Fight Club is one of Derrick and Tim’s favorite movies. The director of Fight Club, David Fincher, also happens to be one of their favorites. In this episode the guys have chat about why they love this movie, how it’s aged in our rapidly changing society, and what impact it’s had on them. They also discuss a bit of Chuck Palahnuik’s original Fight Club novel and his controversial and strange graphic novel sequel. They can’t all be winners however. In this episode Derrick & Tim have a little fun talking about some of the films where practical special f/x fell quite a bit short. It’s always been a favorite film of ours at Transmissions From The Forbidden Planet, and we’re pretty stoked that it’s finally getting the respect it always deserved. So please join us on this episode as we talk about all things The Thing. Like the original novella Who Goes There?, the various film versions, and some of our personal theories and experiences on the storyline. Then when you’re done, maybe one of you can tell me if Derrick seems different to you.
